Student Accounts

To enable hotpotatoes.net to store the results your students achieve when the complete Hot Potatoes exercises, you must create Student Accounts for them. To create a student account, and to manage your existing student accounts, click the Students option on the Account Management page.

Creating a Student Account

When you choose the Create A New Student option, you can enter a name and email address for the new student account, and select which class(es) the new student is a member of. The student's password is generated automatically, and their login name and password are sent to you, the teacher, by email.

You can also choose to have hotpotatoes.net send the student's login information to the student automatically. But this is optional because it might be inappropriate: for example because the automatic confirmation email message is sent in English, which your student may not understand.

Deleting Student Accounts

When you Delete a student account, all the results associated with that student are also deleted, and cannot be recovered. Please make sure that you download all the results you want to keep before deleting a student account. For more information about Results, see Results.

Editing Student Accounts

If you choose the Edit option for a student, the screen gives you the option to change the student's email address, and to change which Classes the student is a member of. Each student can be a member of any combination of classes in your account.
